Built Logic is the AI specialist for businesses in the built environment. We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. For data-protection purposes, you can reach us at [email protected] or by post at 22-24 Berners Street, London W1T 3LP.
Built Logic is registered in England & Wales (Companies House no. 17273424).
This policy covers personal information we handle as a business through this website: enquiries, the application form, and any questionnaire you complete on the site. Information we process on behalf of a client during a paid engagement is governed separately by the agreement we put in place with that client, not by this policy.
The information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill in a form on this site, apply to work with us, or send us an email, you choose to share things like your name, work email, telephone number, company name, your role, the type of business you run, and whatever context you decide to write in the message field. You only ever give us what you choose to type in.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when a page is requested, such as the page visited and a general, approximate location derived from your network. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't build profiles of you. What we count about how the site is used is set out under "What we measure on this site" below.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
We use the information you give us to do the obvious things: to reply to your enquiry, to review your application and follow up about it, and to continue a conversation you've started with us. We may keep a record of that correspondence so we can pick up where we left off.
Where you ask us for something (a Map, the Feasibility Study, an answer to an enquiry), we process your details to do what you asked. Where you sign up to the email series, we rely on your consent, and you can withdraw it any time by unsubscribing. Internal records and alerts run on our legitimate interest in running the business properly.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never use it to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
Who processes your information
We use a small set of services to run this site and do the work you ask for:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and runs its forms.
- Web3Forms delivers the callback form in our website chat to our inbox.
- Resend sends our emails to you.
- Notion holds our record of enquiries and requests.
- HighLevel, including its LeadConnector platform, holds the contact, booking and sales-stage records needed to respond to enquiries and manage the next steps you ask for.
- Kit sends the 30 Days of AI email series if you sign up for it.
- Anthropic processes chat messages and helps prepare Opportunity Maps.
- Twilio sends us internal alerts.
- Stripe processes card payments.
- Tally runs the anonymous industry survey (see "The industry survey" below). Tally is an EU company and stores form data in Europe.
- PostHog provides our site analytics (see "What we measure on this site" below) and stores that data in the EU.
Each one receives only what it needs for its job. Each of these has its own privacy terms governing how it handles data. We'll only share your information beyond these providers if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. Some embedded tools may set their own cookies when you interact with them; those are governed by the provider's own policy.
How we prepare an Opportunity Map
When you request a Tailored AI Opportunity Map, we use the answers you give us, the website address you provide and public information about your company, including Companies House records, to prepare it. We don't access anything private, and we don't need logins or system access.
What we measure on this site
We use PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the EU, to understand how the site is used: which pages people visit, where visitors come from and how they move through our forms.
When you first visit you'll see a cookie notice. If you accept, PostHog sets analytics cookies so we can recognise a returning browser, and it may record how a visit moves through the site (pages viewed, clicks and scrolling) to help us improve it; anything you type into forms is masked in those recordings. If you decline, nothing is stored on your device and we keep anonymous counts only. To change your choice later, clear this site's data in your browser and the notice will appear again.
The 30 Days of AI series
You only receive the series if you sign yourself up, and every email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
The site chat
Messages you type into the chat are processed by Anthropic to generate the reply. Don't put anything commercially sensitive in the chat; email us instead if in doubt.
The industry survey
We run The State of the UK Built Environment Survey, an anonymous piece of industry research hosted for us by Tally and embedded at builtlogic.ai/survey. It is designed so that survey answers are not personal data: no name, company name, email address or account is collected with responses, we don't use IP-based tracking on it, and repeat-submission checks work through your browser rather than your identity. Responses are stored in Europe and analysed in aggregate for one purpose: publishing free industry research. Where the survey includes an optional written comment, we may quote comments anonymously in the published report; the survey says so next to that question, and you can simply leave it blank.
At the end of the survey there is a separate, optional form where you can leave an email address to receive the findings before public release. That form is stored separately and is never linked to your survey answers. We use that email address to send you the findings, and for nothing else unless you separately ask to hear from us. Our lawful basis for the research is our legitimate interest in producing and publishing industry research; for the optional email form it is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing [email protected]. Findings-request emails are deleted once the report has been distributed, unless you've opted in to more.
Where your data is held
Most website data is kept in the UK or European Economic Area. HighLevel's product infrastructure is in the United States, so contact and sales-cycle records held there are transferred under its data-processing agreement and recognised international-transfer safeguards. Where another provider listed above processes limited data outside the UK or EEA, we require an appropriate UK GDPR safeguard, such as standard contractual clauses, the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
Client engagement data is separate from website data. Systems we build for clients run on the client's own accounts, hosted in the UK or EU, and are governed by the agreement we put in place with each client.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and contact information only for as long as we need it: to handle your enquiry, and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case the conversation continues or for our own records. When it's no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it. If you'd like us to remove your information sooner, just ask.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have rights over the personal information we hold about you. You can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold and give you a copy of it;
- correct anything that's wrong or incomplete;
- delete it, where there's no good reason for us to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it; and
- where relevant, receive it in a portable format or have it sent elsewhere.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We'll respond within one month. There's no charge in normal circumstances. If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your data, we'd genuinely like the chance to put it right, but you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
This website doesn't set tracking or advertising cookies of its own. Any cookies in play are either strictly necessary to make the site work or are set by an embedded third-party tool at the point you choose to use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time without breaking the parts of the site that matter.
Changes to this policy
As the business grows and the tools we use change, we'll update this policy and revise the date at the top. When the change is significant, we'll make that clear rather than quietly editing the page.
