Built Logic

A RAMS for this job, not the last one

Answer a few questions about the job. AI asks what a competent person would ask, then writes the RAMS on your own letterhead. Anything you don't know goes on a "Confirm on site" list. Nothing gets made up.

  • Free, no account
  • Word, PDF and a sign-in sheet
  • UK law and HSE guidance only
  • Your logo and colours

Written for the principal contractor's checks

A generic RAMS comes back with questions. These are the bits that stop that happening.

It asks before it writes

Three to seven questions about this exact job, each with the reason it matters. A crane on a public street gets different questions from a ladder in a stairwell.

It never guesses a site fact

If you don't know where the first aid kit is, it won't make one up. It goes on the "Confirm on site" list and prints in amber until someone checks it.

It shows its UK checks

Every regulation comes from a checked list of UK law and HSE guides, with a working link. US terms like LOTO and JHA get caught and swapped for the UK ones. Wind limits and exclusion zones are checked so they match all the way through.

Your operatives can actually use it

The nearest A&E with a directions QR, the forecast against your wind limit, and a one-page briefing in Polish, Romanian and eight more languages. A toolbox talk for the job comes with it.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no card. There's a daily limit per email to keep the AI costs down. You give your work email once, before the first document.

Will the principal contractor accept it?

That's their call. The tool scores your RAMS out of 100 against what they check first: site detail, named people, emergency arrangements, sign-off, sources and the sequence of work. It tells you what's missing and how to fix it before you send it.

Who is responsible for the RAMS?

You are, as the employer. The law asks for a suitable and sufficient risk assessment by a competent person (Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, regs 3 and 7). The tool writes the draft. Your competent person checks it against the site, changes what's needed and signs it off.

What if I don't know an answer?

Leave it. Before it writes, the gap check lists everything that's missing. Answer what you can and put the rest on "Confirm on site". Those items print in amber, so nobody mistakes a gap for a fact.

Does it do lifting, live electrics, confined spaces or asbestos?

Yes. High-risk work gets extra questions, and the sign-off section says which specialist needs to check it before work starts. Lifting gets a draft lift plan for the Appointed Person. Work at height and confined spaces get a draft rescue plan.

Where do my answers go?

Your jobs, brand kit and sign-offs are saved in this browser, on this device. To write the RAMS, your answers go to Built Logic's AI provider and Built Logic doesn't keep them. Built Logic keeps your work email, for the daily limit and to get in touch about building this into your own system. Your logo and colours are fetched from the website address you give.

Can my operatives read it in their own language?

The operative briefing and the toolbox talk translate side by side into Polish, Romanian, Lithuanian, Bulgarian, Portuguese, Spanish, Ukrainian, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. It's machine translation, and it says so. Get a fluent speaker to check it before you rely on it.

Does it cover Northern Ireland?

It uses Great Britain law and HSE guidance. Northern Ireland has its own regulations, so check those before you use it there.

I only need a toolbox talk

There's a separate free toolbox talk generator for that. Five answers and it writes this week's talk.

Writing RAMS every week?

If your team spends evenings writing RAMS, the next step is having this built on your own templates and your own RAMS library, with your sign-off process, filed into your own system. The Feasibility Study puts a figure on the time it saves before you spend a penny on a build.

Find out if it pays back

The RAMS is a draft written from your answers by an automated tool. It doesn't replace a risk assessment by a competent person, who needs to check it against the site, change what's needed and sign it before anyone works to it. Built Logic doesn't visit the site or check your answers.
